Harbinger of Autumn
Local fruit and vegetable markets are displaying their pumpkins these days. These beauties were tempting me at Don-O-Ray this afternoon. I did buy a pie pumpkin since I thought I'd treat my Dad to a homemade one before he left this week. I'm thinking I'll wait another week before I grab some for Hallowe'en.
Soon after we'd moved to Kelowna in 1995 we took a short hike over a few of the Myra Canyon trestles with visiting relatives. Each June since then, I've declared "..that this will be the summer we finally bike the Myra Canyon Trestles".
In January 2003 my desire to do the trek was renewed when Myra Canyon was designated a National Historic Site. All labour, material and equipment was donated and once the restoration was complete, the volunteer group continue…
I was shocked to realize it's been almost a year a half since I posted. It's been an active time for our family with ups and downs, trips and trauma, joy and sorrow. But overall life is good and we recently spent a weekend on Salt Spring Island celebrating Reg's 100th birthday. WOOT!
I have lost my photo mojo and my ability to tell if my pictures were in focus were severely hampered by the fact that I lost my glasses a couple of weeks before the big event. I'm posting them anyway because I know there are many of you who would like to see how the festivities turned out.

Once again we stayed at the Beach House in Fulford Harbour this time with two extra guests.
Next year there will be an additional little dumpling in Adam and Kayla's suite.
