A Walk in the Woods

Image
Reg and I took the dogs for a walk along the Mission Creek Greenway this morning.  I have never seen as much horse poop along this section of the trail as there was today, with a big pile about every hundred yards or so.  If you have dogs you'll know what a challenge this provides.  Not to worry, I didn't take any photos of the "horse puckies" as my Mom used to call them. All the Beasts What's up with the Faerie Tree? Didn't know there were crocs along the Greenway!

Easter Weekend Gratitude

What a lovely Easter weekend we've had.  I did miss my son though, and it was the first time the Easter Bunny hasn't hidden eggs in our house in 27 years.  However, these are minor issues in the scheme of things - all part of kids growing up, and choosing to eat healthy.   Today on Gratitude Monday, I am really appreciating the previous four days and am most grateful for: 125.  my favourite tree decorated by the wood faeries, 126.  the mild, sunny weather we've had the whole time, 127.  a body that's healthy enough to climb Knox Mountain twice in four days, 128.  time spent with my hubby running errands, watching movies, working and goofing around, 129.  discovering Long Island Medium is back on TLC..my guilty pleasure! 130.  two early morning hikes with my hubby, and the dogs along Mission Ridge, 131.  a long chat on the phone with my Dad, and 132.  the fact that our daughter was able to join us for E...

Heart Warming

The faeries are at it again.  It's a pleasure  to stumble upon this impulsive celebration along the Mission Greenway every holiday.  I don't know who decorates this tree, and I've come to realize I don't want to know.  I believe in Wood Faeries. Just like I believe in Santa Claus.  I know he isn't real, but the spirit of kindness, generosity and love is within us all and it's certainly within the Wood Faeries.  Thank you, whoever you are! (Sorry about this photo, it is super enhanced as I  had my camera set to let extra light in for some interior photos yesterday and forgot to re-set today).
