Business and Pleasure
Spent too few days in Southern Ontario with hubby, a couple of his business partners and their wives. A great time was had by all as we visited Toronto, Six Nations Reserve, Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls. I highly recommend the Radisson Hotel Harbourfront. It still boggles my mind that we paid $149 a night for this amazing location on the water, steps from great restaurants, pubs and the Rogers Centre (and a few giant steps to the Distillery District).
After Kensington we headed towards Old Town to meet our friends for lunch. Saw some lovely buildings as we walked along College to the Yonge Street subway.
My goal for the trip: the Distillery District
I was disappointed to discover a year after our trip to Paris that we missed the opportunity to "lock our love" onto the Point des Arts. While visiting New York in 2012 I also missed the chance to add a love lock to the Brooklyn Bridge. Lockily, before we left Kelowna, I stumbled upon a blog that mentioned the love locks at the Distillery District and passed the info onto our fellow travelers.
Niagara Falls, the honeymoon capital of the world, was the perfect spot and we dropped them over the bow of our boat on the Hornblower Tour of the falls.
The guys waited patiently in El Catrin (voted best restaurant for a first date) while the women shopped at the boutiques in the Distillery District. We joined them to quench our thirst after all that hard work.
A huge thank you to Kevin, and the staff and wives from First Nations Engineering Services and K.L. Martin and Associates, who took us to see the Blue Jays vs. Kansas City game at the Sky Dome (it will always be the Sky Dome to me).
A foul ball narrowly missed the two ladies below and was caught by Linda (directly above her name here). She passed the ball on to a young boy in the row in front of her who was here for his first Blue Jays game.
Saturday we headed to Niagara Falls with a quick stop at Niagara on the Lake.
Hubby and I took the street car up to Kensington Market in search of his favourite Venezuelan street food.
Now that's a bike path, people!
Success!

When you place your love lock on the bridges in Paris and New York, you throw your key into the water, metaphorically locking your love in place forever. We decided to hang onto our locks until we found ourselves together at a body of water.

Even the individual bathrooms have cool decor.

The Bluejays beat the Royals 5-2, scoring three home runs!
While the Ecora group met with our hosts from the previous evening, Linda gave us a mini tour of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Afterwards we all met for a lunchtime BBQ..
Post meeting photo with the Ecora reps and staff from FNESL & KSMC

Someone suggested a gummyworm race over the falls and naturally that someone was the winner.
A stop at Margaritaville on our way back to the hotel.

It was definitely a trip to remember, thanks to this great group of people.
