Weathering Change

Today was a true illustration of the saying "If you don't like the weather, just wait fifteen minutes."'  We had a little bit of everything today.



My morning started with a lovely rainbow.  It was a double one in fact but the second arc had faded before I was able to take a photo.



Not long after that, Mrs. Peartree posted on FB that there was hail falling on the east side of town and soon after her report we received a deluge of rain and sleet at our house.

Then later this afternoon the beautiful sunshine arrived.   And I would love to show you the photo I took, but my USB ports seem to be out of order. I can't upload any of the photos I took this afternoon.  I think it's time to give up on this MacBook Pro that has been a real lemon.   Hope to figure something else for tomorrow.

Every Christmas, for as long as I can remember my heart has been touched by  The Wonderful Window by Beth Vardon,  illustrated by Charlot Byj.    I believe it was written in the 50's and I would likely have received it for Christmas sometime in the 60's.  It's no longer in print so I hope I'm not violating any copyright laws by sharing it with you.    As soon as the patchwork was tacked into place The angel came in with a smile on his face. Pearls of Wisdom

On Tuesday, my daughter received her diploma from the University of British Columbia. On Wednesday I was moving documents to my new computer when I stumbled upon a verse I'd copied from a card my mom gave Nicole when she graduated from high school.  I thought I'd post it today along with some photos of my Mom.  Today, is the fourth anniversary of her passing. Because You Know I'm All About That Pump

Here's the bravest thing I've done as a Type 1 Diabetic.  I've written a little ditty about my pump to the tune of All About That Bass and recorded me singing it on my smart phone while playing the YouTube karaoke version on my computer.  You might expect more from a "professional" singer, but it's just not in a good key for me, so the singing's not my best. I guess I could have just posted the lyrics, but I think you need to hear how the words fit the music.  And it was fun! I also wanted to make it clear that "it's all about that pump" for me in my own personal experience.  I'm not saying it's the best way for everyone.  Some T1's don't like the thought of something attached to them at all times.  I know a blogger who took a holiday from her pump and found she could get good control without it and hasn't gone back.  I have a friend whose father was diagnosed in the 1940's and is quite happy without having tried ...
