Sometimes google sucks.  I can find no information on this mural.  Going to have to do some deeper digging and get back to you.  I was heading to Knox Mountain for a hike on Sunday and took the back way.  I came across this stunning mural that I thought was painted on the back of the BC fruit packers building but it turns out it's on the back of a warehouse next to the Sun-Rype plant.,  The last few photos are a bad angle because there was a big truck in the way so I had to make my way around it as best I could. It's a lovely mural by a talented artists (whose name I couldn't find).  I believe he or she has a fair bit of work displayed around our fair city of Kelowna B.C.  ...and I couldn't resist posting a couple of shots of the lake from my favourite spot on Knox Mountain.  Looking north Looking south

I'm trying to decide whether or not to continue posting my photos on Blogger or not.  This weekend I spent some time culling over 400 photos I took on September 23rd.  The Fall Equinox is a day I try to set aside to indulge my little hobby.  I've lucked out with the weather the past few years and this past Wednesday was no exception.  I decided to post my photos on Flickr this year.  It seems a bit safer than Blogger and Facebook. I was listening to North by Northwest on CBC Radio Sunday Morning and Sheryl MacKay asked people to post what the weather was like in their area and what they were planning to do this Sunday morning.  I thought "Why not." and posted "In Kelowna it's blue as far as the eye can see, which will be even farther once I reach the top of Knox Mountain this morning." My first Okanagan hike was with a group that meets weekly to hike or snowshoe Okanagan trails depending upon the season.  I was in my mid 40's and I'm fairly sure that other than my hiking partner, the rest of the hikers were well over 65.  We climbed for a couple of hours, up a steep trail that overlooked Rose Valley. I lagged behind all the way.  Even the guy who'd recently had a heart attack was far ahead of me.  Last week while searching for a Sunday hike I stumbled across a great online source called H iking Addiction .  They reported their members were in their 20's, 30's and 40's.  Remembering my first hike, I joined the site because I really think they needed to have some members in their 50's and up, representing the grey haired set. We did make it to Bear Creek for Sunday Hike #3 this sunny Easter Morning.  Despite living in Kelowna for 19 years, it was our first hike of this popular trail located 7 km from Highway 97 on Westside Road. We chose to hike the Canyon Rim Trail.  It's the longest of the loops and does a pretty steady climb, follows the cliffs around the creek and then heads back down the hill to a lookout with a great view of Kelowna and the William R. Bennet Bridge.  From there it's a steep downhill back to the parking lot. As I stopped to take this picture, out of the corner of one eye I saw the flap of a large wing. This past Sunday we narrowed down our hike choices to Bear Creek or Crawford Trails.  After binge watching " Life Behind Bars " on Saturday evening, we were curious to see if the Crawford trails had any "sic lines" like the ones ridden by Brandon Semenuk and his crew.  For the uninitiated, Life Behind Bars is a three season web series that follows some of the highlights of top rated mountain bike freerider Brandon Semenuk and his crew (which happens to include my nephew, fondly referred to on the series as "Inty"). Crawford Trails are located in Myra Bellevue Provincial Park in East Kelowna with two entrances on Stewart Road.  We prefer the entrance at the edge of Crawford Estates, the dead end of Stewart where it stops at a rock quarry. There's a great interactive map located here where you can click on a trail and it will show you the distance, degree of difficulty, elevation and the condition of the trail.  There are 95 trails to choose from, ...
